Retrieving Reason Episode 5: The Definition of Knowledge

In Episode 5 of Retrieving Reason, I discuss the definition of knowledge as “justified true belief” as codified by Edmund Gettier in his 1963 paper. I then contrast the JTB definition of knowledge with Plato’s “true opinion with an account” definition (TOA). I entertain some objections and responses from Gettier and Alvin Plantinga. In the end, I claim that there is hope for attaining knowledge.

I mention my two books in this episode since I have written extensively on the topic we covered. You can find my books here.
